If you're reporting a calculation bug, telling us the page URL and what result you expected vs. what you got makes it much faster to track down. Screenshots help a lot. Browser and device type too, if the issue might be rendering-related.
If you're suggesting a new tool, just describe what you're trying to calculate. We don't need a spec — a couple of sentences is enough.
What we don't handle
We can't give personalized tax, payroll, or retirement advice. If you have questions specific to your situation — what withholding you should claim, whether you qualify for a certain FERS benefit, what your actual take-home will be at a new job — you need a CPA, a financial advisor, or your HR office. We can point you toward the right resources if that's helpful.
For tax questions, the IRS contact page is the right place to start. For federal retirement questions, OPM Retirement Services has official guidance.
Response time
We try to reply within a few days. We can't promise it for every message, but we read everything. Bug reports and security issues get to the front of the line.
